Mindful Yin Yoga is a deeply restorative practice designed for modern life. Blending mindfulness, yoga philosophy and insights from neuroscience, it supports your body, mind and nervous system to slow down, soften and reset.
This gentle, floor-based practice uses long-held, passive postures to target the deeper connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and spine. Over time, it supports joint health, functional flexibility and mobility, while encouraging the nervous system to shift out of constant “doing” mode and into a state of rest, repair and regulation. It’s an invitation to soften effort and allow the body to unwind at its own pace.
Mindfulness weaves through the practice as a way of meeting your experience with curiosity and kindness. By paying attention to sensations, breath, thoughts and emotions — without trying to fix or change them — you step out of autopilot and into a more responsive, embodied awareness. This can be especially powerful for easing underlying tension, stress and the low-level anxiety so many of us carry without realising.
Forward-folding postures and supported shapes gently stimulate the relaxation response, helping to soothe the vagus nerve and support healthy vagal tone. The result is often a profound sense of calm, groundedness and ease — leaving you feeling more spacious, settled and resourced as you return to everyday life.
In each pose, you’re invited to explore a place of gentle sensation — an edge that feels present but sustainable. Rather than forcing or stretching, we listen to the body and allow time for it to respond in its own way. Bolsters and blocks are used generously to support the body, reduce unnecessary effort and encourage a sense of safety and ease.

Retreat Day: 24th October 2026, in Goring, 10am to 4pm. This event has been designed as a gentle restorative day for people who are simply tired of carrying so much. Life can be difficult. Burn out, exhaustion, menopause, redundancy, family worries, financial pressure, caring for others (children and parents), uncertainty and sometimes you may not even have the words for what you’re carrying. This isn’t a day to fix any of that. It’s a day to stop for a while. Through gentle relaxation, breathwork, yin yoga and space to ground. We’ll explore ways of softening into our thoughts, emotions, body. You don’t have to leave feeling transformed. Just come. Stop. Breathe. Rest.
